The legend has it that Plato started the first Academy in the world in an olive tree grove. It was a remarkable event that made a foundation for a human education for centuries to come. Schools as we know it literally started under the olive tree (elia in greek). However, Plato’s Academy was not open to public, it was exclusive for free people of Athens.
